Arashi & Dramas!!

Sooo I'm so excited for Ohno and Jun's dramas, both starting this week!!

And what makes it more exciting is that they're both challenging roles new to them. I love it that they're growing as an actor and aren't afraid of stepping out of their comfort zones.

I usually don't like watching a "currently-airing" drama, but of course for Arashi, I'm more than happy to make an exception XD

Ganbatte Jun & Riida!!

File:Sekai Ichi Muzukashii Koi.jpg

As a bonus, I'm also curious about the Spring Getsuku, since it's Fukuyama Masaharu ;)

Riida in a Rom-Com!!

The day has come when another Arashi member is starring in a full-on romantic comedy! Yatta!!
And surprisingly it's Riida, too XD

Here's the news:

It was reported that popular idol group Arashi member Ohno Satoshi would star in NTV's new drama "Sekaiichi Muzukashii Koi." This marks his first love comedy drama.

In the drama, Ohno will play a young CEO named "Samejima Reiji" who is the heir of a long-established Japanese-style inn and is now making inroads in the hotel industry. He is excellent at his job as he has a great talent for satisfying his customers, and he seems perfect at a glance. However, he never succeeds in love because of his arrogant personality. The drama depicts his struggles with his first love.

Apparently, the actress playing the protagonist's love interest will be revealed on the next episode on "Arashi ni Shiyagare" (to be aired on the 30th at 10:00pm).

Arashi - New Single!

Wow, haven't posted in a while...But seeing as there's so many not so good news/rumors going around. Here's some good one:

News: Arashi to release new single, Fukkatsu LOVE, on 24th Feb 2016

Just two weeks into the new year and we have news of a new Arashi release! The stormy five will be releasing a new single, entitled “Fukkatsu LOVE” on the 24th of February, Wednesday, 2016. The title song, Fukkatsu LOVE (復活LOVE, literally meaning revive, or restore LOVE), is written by Mariya Takeuchi and composed/arranged by Tatsuro Yamashita. The song promises to sound groovy and urban, and it’ll be a love song that’s akin to a short film showing the dramatic and heartrending adult love life.

This is their 48th single, which will be released in two editions. The limited edition, and regular edition. The limited edition will have a different artwork/cover from the regular edition, it’ll also come with a coupling song, and the karaoke track for that coupling song. It comes with a DVD that’ll contain the PV, and the making of the PV. It will also come with a 16 page lyrics booklet. Note that the DVD is encoded for region 2, and no subtitles are included. As with their previous releases, the regular edition will come with 3 other coupling songs, as well as the karaoke version for all 4 songs. It will also have a 10 panel lyrics card. I decided not to split my review to accomodate each part, but just to give my overall thought on the whole trilogy.
First of all, since this movie was based on the famous manga and anime (and I'm a fan of both), it is inevitable to compare them with either one. But I tried to do that while at the same time keeping in mind that this film should stand on its own. So looking at the overall film, this big screen adaptation is definitely worth watching. But first, I want to adress the pros and cons in regards to each factor of the film:

Review #2: "Shitsuren Chocolatier"

My Rating:
2.5 out of 5 stars

Plot: http://asianwiki.com/Heartbroken_Chocolatier_(Shitsuren_Chocolatier)

Out of everyone from Arashi, it's Jun-kun's dramas & movies that I look forward to the most. Maybe because he's my ichiban. Or maybe it's because out of the five, he's the one who takes on the most projects involving romance. So when I heard that he's starring in another romantic drama, I was so excited. Little did I know that I would be dissapointed.
Of course, throughout the drama, Jun-kun looked so handsome. But boy, his character was just so excruciating to watch. Actually most of the character's in the story were excruciating to watch. Sota who is blindly obsessed with Saeko-san, just wasn't believable. And then there's Saeko who is just a crazy, cruel vixen, who is so annoying that I didn't feel an ounce of sorry for her when her husband started abusing her (which I know is cold, but that's how annoying she was lol). Then there's Kaoruko-san, who was a character that I actually liked in the beginning, but she also ended up being annoying towards the end. And please dont get me started on Kato Shigeaki's character Sekiya who had no substance and no real significance whatsoever to the plot. The only thing that really got me watching until the end was the relationship between Sota and Elena. They really had chemistry, and I ended up rooting that they end up together in the end because Sota was best and was himself whenever he was with Elena. But...... I was gravely dissapointed :(
I understand that the title bears the inevitable, that Sota is a heartbroken chocolatier, but come on, he was already heartbroken throughout the whole drama, why not finally give it a happy ending? Or at least some promising ending that he will no longer be heartbroken.
Maybe they're still waiting for the ongoing manga to end, that's why they left it at that ending. If that's the case, then there better be a sequel or at least an SP in the future.

- The tasty looking chocolates.
- Mizobata Junpei as Olivier looking hot.
- The good chemistry between Matsumoto Jun and Mizuhara Kiko.

- Unnecessary Sekiya character.
- Annoying Saeko-san!
- Unfinished plot.

CONCLUSION: This drama left me heartbroken :(

RECOMMENDATION: I would recommend it only to those who are a fan of the actors acting in this drama. Otherwise, skip it.
Once again, here's a poll dedicated to the wonderful Matsumoto Jun, who is such a diva, that he changes his hair more often than most women. But then again, that's why we all adore him, ne?

So here's my part two of MatsuJun's many hairstyles:

Review #1: "Freeter, Ie wo Kau"

So I've been quite inactive in posting on my LJ page for a while now. Although I'm still actively keeping up with Arashi, I want to also be active in posting things on my LJ page. So i was thinking of starting something that i can regularly add on, like a "series" kind of thing. What I came up with is doing movie, drama, and music reviews. They'll be mostly of movies & dramas that I've watched in the past, but also of more recent ones. Of course, as first and foremost an Arashian, I will start with reviewing Arashi-related dramas & movies^^,
NOTE: SPOILERS. Also, my reviews are all just my opinion, that you may or may not agree with. I try to be fair and not biased, and always give pros and cons to keep things in perspective.

Review #1: "Freeter, Ie wo Kau"

*EDITED 01-24-15

(This is actually a repost of a review I did before lol, but it's been modified a little..)
My Rating:
4.5 out of 5 stars

Plot: http://asianwiki.com/Freeter,_Ie_wo_Kau

Truthfully, I put off watching this drama for a long time because it just didn't interest me. With dramas I usually prefer romance or comedy (or both), that's why a home-drama/human drama just didn't appeal to me.
But I still took a chance on it since Nino's the lead actor...and I must say, once I started it, I just kept on going.
The story is really timely with the economy, how hard it is to find a job and overcoming other obstacles that come along. On top of that, the actor's were pretty good. Of course, Nino's acting never dissapoint, but as well as his co-stars, especially the actors that played his parents, they did their role superbly.
-Stellar and convincing acting from the cast (especially Nino.)
-Takenake Naoto did a superb job as the irratating father. (He even got on my nerves lol)
-Both the overall plot and characters are relatable.
-The whole side story about the dad, Seichii's "possible affair" was kind of unnecessary, didnt really add any more depth to the story or character. I think they could left that out and revealed his feeling's towards his children from a more believable angle.

So for those hesitating to watch it, I highly recommend it and also the SP, and really, up 'til the end, it doesn't dissapoint^^
